GIVING A CHANCE TO THE CHILDREN OF AMBOVO VILLAGE TO HAVE A FUTURE
270 SUPPORTED CHILDREN
The Centre Mitantana is located in the small village of Ambovo, in the municipality of Ambohidratrimo (suburb of Antananarivo). It has a primary school, a nursery school, a home for children with severe family difficulties, a canteen and showers.
In order to best respond to our mission, to give a future, we accompany the child throughout his or her schooling from kindergarten to university. The Centre Mitantana provides school fees (tuition) and school supplies.
Children have access to quality education in Malagasy and French. They evolve in a pleasant environment in the middle of a class of 35 pupils (in Madagascar the average class size is 70).
The primary school has 5 classes (Cp1 to Cm2).
The nursery school welcomes children from 4 years old. The nursery school has two classes: the middle and the large section.
In order to fight malnutrition, from Monday to Friday, children eat a hot meal.
On the other hand, aware of the great difficulties of certain families in the village, the mission offers them to come and eat for free at the center.
In Madagascar, access to drinking water is a cause for concern. Lack of hygiene leads to skin diseases and diarrhoea, which particularly affect children under 5 years old.
In order to combat this scourge, 5 shower cubicles have been built and a well has been drilled.
